From Simple Beginnings…

The wind is not always blowing
It rests to catch its breath from
foosh and swoosh and fights against itself,
but then again,
I am not the wind -
This is the first blog entry, and where it may go, it’s anyone’s guess. The software is installed, the intention is pure, but how it all pans out in the end? We are not born with such insight.
I’m hoping to be able to freeform some thoughts a little less formally here and bring some content to a more casual readership. The thought is that over time, we’ll offer blogging (I really hope that term falls out of fashion quickly, it’s so terrible as it trips over the tongue) to all contributing poets, but for now, my own ramblings will have to suffice.
I hope to contribute to this area fairly often, so subscibership is available through standard RSS feed tech, or, if you find it entertaining, simply a visit from time to time would be cool. It’s nice to see you here.
The Irises above is the first piece of my new series reflecting a strong deistic point of view, From Simple Beginnings… This series is a return for me to representational art. The work will be small, with the image size being 10″x10″, and they will be mixed media, predominately Derwent Watercolor Pencil, on D’Arches hotpress watercolor paper. Coming back to this simple subject matter after years of Abstraction feels peculiar. I think it represents a change for me both in tone, and in attitude. I’m excited about watching how each image will grow in strength of voice and technical comfort.
